I woke up this morning and was like “oh my gee, is it SERIOUSLY March already??” I have so much to do. SO MUCH. I started scheming and planning and stressing right away. But, I was met with a lovely surprise when I got onto Facebook. I learned that today is National Peanut Butter Day. Facebook tells me everything. I also learned that March is National Crafts Month.
I feel a lot better now. It’s hard to be too stressed while crafting things with a spoonful of peanut butter in your mouth.
I thought that in honor of a day which honors one of my faves, I would put up one of my favorite recipes.
They are delightful in every way, so don’t even bother worrying about the calorie content. Just do yourself the favor. Here we go!
Peanut Butter Oreo Brownies
Adapted from Picky Palate
What you need:
1 box brownie mix and ingredients brownie mix calls for (I used Betty Crocker, 1.50 without coupons)
24 Oreo cookies (prices vary, some of you may have Nabisco coupons but I never got any boo!)
1 jar peanut butter (I used Planters, 2.00 at Dollar General, 2.00 off of one coupon from Vocalpoint made it free!)
What you do:
–Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and put cupcake cups in muffin trays
-Make brownie mix according to directions on box
-Each cupcake gets two oreos. Spread about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter on top of one oreo, then on top of the other. Stack them on top of each other in the middle of a cupcake cup.
-Spoon about 2 tablespoons of brownie batter over each stack of cookies, letting it drip over the sides
-Bake for about 20 minutes, until the cups fill out. Don’t undercook or these will be messy, I found out the hard way!!!
-Let cool a little bit and enjoy!
